Zabel is a lifelong resident of Gainesville. She was born in 1977 and graduated from the University of Florida in 2000 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. She grew up helping her parents manage a small apartment complex performing various tasks from paperwork to yardwork and cleaning apartments. While in college she was the resident manager of the complex and in 2000 she and her father, Ropen Nalbandian, purchased another, larger complex next door. Upon graduation, Zabel decided to remain in the family business and took on a larger role as General Manager of both apartment complexes and assuming clerical and bookkeeping duties for her and her father’s various real estate companies.
Since 2000 her companies have grown, acquiring more rental assets both commercial, residential, and vacant lands for future development. She owns and manages over 300,000 square feet of commercial office and warehouse spaces and 3 apartment complexes totaling 330 units.
In 2006 Zabel married Paul Thur de Koos, who also works in their business as Managing Director of Operations and Real Estate Sales. They have 2 children together.
In addition to running 7 companies, in 2018 Zabel earned her Real Estate Broker License and has started Lexis Real Estate Group to lease and/or sell the properties and businesses of others. She plans to continue growing the companies with plans of more acquisitions and development opportunities.
